What does being a student-athlete mean to you?

Being a student-athlete means that I am blessed to play a sport that I love at a high level, get an exceptional education, and spend every day with teammates that I love. I try to never take those opportunities for granted.

What study skill or academic success tip/trick has helped you the most?

What has made me most successful as a student-athlete is remembering that the most urgent tasks aren't always the most important ones. Prioritizing my faith and relationships, even when I am extremely busy, has helped me stay in a good space mentally so that I can perform well on the court and in the classroom.

What advice would you give yourself as a freshman?

Don't compromise on any of your athletic or academic goals just because it might get difficult. Taking the easy route won't get you anywhere worth going. Just because it's hard doesn't mean it isn't worth it.

"Tasha takes being a student-athlete to the next level. She’s pursing her Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering while balancing the work load of being on the Volleyball team. She does all of this and never skips a beat – she’s a leader both in the classroom and on the court."
